Marking 22 years of Nashville Black Pride, "Runway to Freedom" symbolizes the journey towards liberation. This weekend emphasizes the steps we’ve taken and the progress we continue to make. From joyous celebrations to powerful expressions, this event highlights the beauty and strength of Black LGBTQ people as we walk the RUNWAY to FREEDOM in love and unity.
Our Story
The mission statement of Nashville Black Pride© (NBP) is to bring together African American and other Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT)/Same Gender Loving (SGL) People of Color in a social, non-threatening empowering setting to uplift, educate and present positive images that help to maintain a healthy, productive and visionary community.
Annual activities include an open reception, parties, book signings, spoken word showcase, live music & entertainment, a panel discussion, town hall meeting, health & wellness forum, a benefit event, workshops, couples recognition, free & confidential HIV & STI testing, and Black LGBT Film & Cultural Fest.
Nashville Black Pride is open to all people regardless of race, sexual orientation, or gender identity. NBPs main outreach effort is focused on reaching the underserved SGL/LGBT Communities of Color in the Middle Tennessee area and welcoming to All.
NBP is a proud member of the Center for Black Equity (CBE) formally known as the International Federation of Black Prides Organization (IFBP). The CBE is a coalition of Black pride organizers formed to promote a multinational network of LGBT Prides and community-based organizations. The CBE was organized in 1999 and acquired its 501c3 non-profit status in 2004.
Brothers and Sisters United Network©, Inc. is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that has provided education, empowerment, affirmation and Pride services since 1996.
The Brothers and Sisters United© name along with BASU©, Nashville Black Pride© (and other abbreviated versions such as Black Pride©) are registered, and exclusively owned by the organization.
Any unauthorized use of our various DBA names is prohibited and may prompt legal action.
